Therapy Rates
In Calgary therapy fees aren’t strictly regulated; instead, the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA) provides recommended rates as a helpful guideline. This allows individual psychologists and therapy clinics, like mine, to set fees based on their unique experience, specialties, location, and the clients they serve.
I strive to keep my rates very reasonable and in-line with these suggested rates, ensuring that quality support is accessible to those who need it.
Health Insurance
Many extended health benefits plans and employee assistance programs (EAPs) provide coverage for therapy sessions, either partially or in full. It’s a good idea to review your specific plan or contact your provider to understand what is included, such as the number of sessions covered, the reimbursement process, and any required documentation. If needed, I can provide detailed receipts for submission to your insurance company or EAP to help facilitate the claims process. I encourage clients to explore these options to make therapy as accessible and affordable as possible.
Uninsured Costs
If you do not have insurance coverage, you can still claim therapy expenses. Keep your receipt and submit it as a medical expense when filing your taxes to potentially reduce your taxable income.

Direct Billing and Receipts
I’m happy to help by direct billing for various insurance plans and after our session, I’ll provide you with a detailed receipt for your records. This receipt will include important information such as the date of your session, the type of service provided, my credentials as a registered psychologist, and the amount paid. This documentation will be helpful if you need to submit it to your insurance provider for reimbursement, or for tax purposes.
Cancellations
I require at least 24 hours’ notice prior to your scheduled appointment if you need to cancel or reschedule. This policy allows me to accommodate other clients who may need support during that time. Cancellations made within less than 24 hours of the appointment will incur a late cancellation fee, as this time has been specifically reserved for you. I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and I’m happy to discuss any extenuating situations to ensure fairness for all clients.
